The idea for 3D history Trek came about during the covid lockdown. We found ourselves unable to engage in our love of travel and bought virtual reality headsets based on the thought that we could travel through VR and learn about new places to visit once the lockdown was over. We quickly found that the type of content we were hoping to view was not available. We then realized that with our backgrounds in photography, history, and archaeology we could create that content ourselves. We are just as excited about learning new material as we are about sharing it,

I think that I was born a history nerd. I place the blame on public TV and the local library for hooking me on the subject. I was also an artist from a young age and ended up going into the field of archaeological illustration. This has allowed me to travel to fascinating sites where I love to explore the history, archaeology, and local cultures of the places where I work. I have also found that you don’t need to travel to exotic lands to find history and my hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota, has plenty of unique stories to tell.

I am, among other things, a photographer, author, playwright and performer. Over nearly 40 years I’ve photographed archaeological sites ranging from Lewes Castle in England to St. Hilarion Castle in Cyprus to Castle Danger in Minnesota. By creating 360-degree tours of historic places I hope to share the excitement of visiting far-off places in an immersive and engaging manner.
